Music and banter eddy with the more subtle fragrances of elven wine,
as faces cascade through expressions in the subtle warm torchlight.
The ones closer to stage, perhaps..., ...but then again,
it rankled to interrupt the magic of song and tale.
At the bar a wizened fellow talks with the proprietor,
and a younger man is trying to summon his courage from the depths
of his untouched ale. The female bartender smiles hesitantly
at her companion's jibe and subtle gesture.
At a slight blush from the bartender, the other laughs softly,
brushes her shimmering hair from her eyes and heads upstairs.
Approaching the bartender, now busying herself with
wiping up some of the spills, you venture..., "Who...?"

"The name is Lark,
and the lady you are asking about is a friend of mine, Liren.
From your question I would guess you aren't here for a drink....
As my boss, Celebon, is currently occupied, here's the scroll he usually hands out.
And as I'm actually not a member..., so far anyway, let me break a few traditions."

"A word of advice..., be humble.   Humility is a virtue too often forgotten.
Accept who and where you are; trust and respect
those who lead you as well as those who will follow."

"Now if you will excuse me, there's a fellow I should ask to dance."

OOC Rules
General • OOC • Officers
Let your conscience be your guide to the spirit of our laws and rules - a phenomenal community of mature individuals awaits....

We make every effort to have a clear set of guidelines to promote a pleasant experience.   We ask that you heed all of our rules and SOE's.   If you do not understand the meaning or reasoning, please contact the Eldarim; constructive criticism is welcome.

On a sour note it must be stated that the final penalty for blatant violation of Eldarele rules is sanctioned dismissal; we have no dominion over the possibility that your actions may incur independent disciplinary or even legal actions.

Above all remember to communicate with each other as no one can read your mind.

  1. Respect and Trust:
All members shall respect each other regardless of rank or role.   Trusting one another, being honest with one another, and the willingness to change are integral to our concept of respect.   We understand that conflicts and disagreements will occur, but handle them quietly and in a respectful and mature manner.   Please ensure that the guild leaders are aware of such tension as this helps our deliberated assistance progress smoothly.   Disrespect, dishonesty, or adamant refusal to listen/trust shows only that the individual(s) involved has little place among us.

The code of respect extends beyond the members of Eldarele to the community as a whole, even when this mutual trust is breached.   Please do not abuse forums by spamming or flaming, even to protect our guild or fellow members.   Alert the guild leaders to the player's name and guild name, so that mediated steps may occur.

  2. Harassment:
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated - neither in nor out of character will harassment be tolerated.   Harassment includes any type of persistent/repeated unwelcome attention based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation, cultural background, or religion.

If you feel uncomfortable, first mention these reasons in OOC to the other individual within the concepts of trust and respect, and then, and only then, contact a guild officer.   We ask you to remember that people unfortunately make poor decisions, and to be aware that your decisions will affect the entire community.

  3. Foul Language:
We intend to provide a safe place for mature role-players.   We understand that people will use foul language occasionally and perhaps even judiciously in character backgrounds; when it becomes directed at other members or a common occurrence, our trust has been torn.

  4. Cheating:
Software hacks, third party programs that provide an unfair advantage, or cognizant exploitation of the gaming system will not be tolerated.   We can help SOE to best facilitate their nurture of our immersive environment by reporting glitches or exploitable aspects.   As Eldarele is committed to fostering a role-playing environment, exploitation includes power leveling and inconsistent character assets.

  5. Other Rule Sets:
Always respect the rules of war or a special event established by Eldarele or any other body. Please consistently use our 'Need Before Greed' rules when leading a group; otherwise abide by the loot rules that the group leader has set. Clarification of these rule sets can be found in the library.

  6. Leaving Eldarele:
If for any reason, you feel the need to depart our guild, please be thoughtful and respectful in your notification. We respect your reasons for choosing to depart and will continue to honor you under the same rules to which you agreed when you joined.

  7. Role-playing:
Work with each other and remember that your actions will have an effect.   Also remember that role-played tension/hatred is only acceptable to the point that both players behind the characters are having fun - beyond this grey area lies the realm of harassment; tread carefully and communicate with each other(ooc).

  8. OOC Acronyms:
Be judicious in your use of OOC acronyms(gtg, lol, rofl, np, ty, ...) to express ideas.   In order to best foster an immersive environment, limit yourself to OOC channels when using acronyms such as these.   We acknowledge the efficiency and spontaneous feeling that these can create, but prefer that you actually type the phrase or use a macro that performs the appropriate emote.

Officer Charter
GeneralOOC • Officers
These are presented in an out of character form so that you may
see the rules by which the leadership and officers of Eldarele operate.

"It is the duty of every officer in a guild to try and be of assistance to the member body, and the duty of every guild member to do what they can to assist their fellows."
- Mayhem, Conclave of Guilds -

Eldarele Officer Regulations:
  1. No member of the Eldarim can be an Elda'mavari(rank VI).

  2. Elda'mavari can be emplaced/removed by a unanimous vote of the Eldarim with all due discussion to express dissent and concerns.

  3. Eldarim must note their absences and follow appropriate guidelines.   These same guidelines apply if an Eldarim resigns. (Especially important for the one whom is 'nominally' guild leader.)

  4. Eldarim follow all rules of the guild - including the requisite requirements for rank advancement.   This means that the Eldarim will be the only officers for a time while Eldarele grows, not because of our rank, but simply because of our role.

  5. Eldarim operate behind the scenes, and will delegate important visible roles to the Elda'mavari officers at their discretion.   When the Eldarim act together as three, or hopefully infrequently, as two of three, they act as the 'Guild Leader' - for most situations the Eldarim are considered standard officers of Eldarele.

Eldarim Responsibilities and Powers:
  1. Guild Leadership:   Together the Eldarim manage the overall community and present a 'face' to both the role-playing community and to the player community.   In general, Eldarim will work behind the scenes.

  2. Recruitment Officers:   Individually, the Eldarim are each recruitment officers.   This is an essential, exclusive, and permanent responsibility.   Not all three need to be actively recruiting, but all three have the power to do so - of course with all due consideration and consultation.

  3. Ensure that there is a website and that it is updated.

  4. Conduct Issues may be dealt with individually by the Eldarim.   Severe consequences are a group decision - one Eldarim by him/herself cannot kick or suspend someone from the guild.

  5. The Eldarim are the only body that can grant OOC Awards such as for role-playing or mastery of a metagame elven language.

Elda'mavari Responsibilities and Powers:
  1. Absentia:   When a member of the Eldarim is to be absent, a member of the Elda'mavari will hold the position temporarily until their return.   This official appointment will be implemented in a rotating schedule amongst the five Elda'mavari.   If a permanent official replacement is authorized by all three Eldarim, with the agreement of the Elda'mavari in question, that individual will become an Eldarim and subject to all standard rules and regulations.

  2. Conduct Issues/guild management and leadership:   Elda'mavari do their best to deal with minor conduct issues.   Keep the Eldarim informed of situations and decisions, however inconsequential.   Thus if more assistance is needed it is easier to involve the Eldarim.

  3. Each Elda'mavari is a guild officer.

  4. Serve & delegate positions such as Special Event Coordinator, Expedition/Raid Leader, etc.

  5. Elda'mavari, together with the Eldarim determine merit and then present guild and constellation awards, conducting the award ceremony within their particular constellation with the assistance of the other Elda'mavari and the Eldarim.
